Evaporation Lagoon
JRCC prepared a wastewater feasibility study for resort communities along the east shore of Last Mountain Lake, and the Town of Strasbourg. The feasibility study provided the Last Mountain Waste Management Steering Committee (LMWMSC) with an understanding of possible wastewater treatment and disposal options to meet the future needs of the communities.
Based on recommendations of the LMWMSC Wastewater System Feasibility Study, the RM of McKillop retained JRCC to complete additional feasibility studies, which included geotechnical and topographic investigations, for a proposed evaporation lagoon.
Construction works of the new evaporation lagoon included a primary cell and two evaporation cells with a reworked clay liner, intercell piping, liquid level control manholes, access road, truck turnaround area with concrete spillways, automated sliding gate with cameras, and the installation of monitoring wells.
