Wastewater System Feasibility Study
JRCC prepared a wastewater feasibility study for the resort communities along the east shore of Last Mountain Lake and the Town of Strasbourg. The lakefront communities dispose of their wastewater by land spreading, which no longer meets the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment (MOE) regulations.
The feasibility study provided the committee with an understanding of possible wastewater treatment options, i.e. lagoon, wastewater treatment plant, biofiltration, etc., and disposal options, i.e. evaporation cell, direct discharge after additional treatment, snowfluent, etc. The study reviewed the existing wastewater infrastructure and identified potential wastewater infrastructure requirements to meet the future needs of the communities based on anticipated development.
