Capital Planning Study
JRCC and HTFC Planning & Design were retained to complete a comprehensive Capital Planning Study for the Pikangikum First Nation. Two reports were prepared: a Phase I report to address immediate needs and a full Community Capital Planning Study (CPS) to address long-term needs.
The CPS included conceptual planning for several new subdivisions to address the community’s significant housing shortfall. The study considered the community’s need for improved water, sewer and road infrastructure in existing and proposed residential areas, and for the proposed new school. The project considered the impacts of the shallow bedrock found in many locations throughout the community.
