Capital Planning Study
JRCC completed a Capital Planning Study for the Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation. Flooding of Lac des Mille Lacs Reserve 22A1 led to total abandonment of the community in the 1950s.
JRCC and HTFC Planning & Design were retained by the Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation to complete a Community Capital Planning Study, setting the framework for the community members to return to their traditional lands. Short-term, intermediate, and long-term goals and objectives were established for the provision of infrastructure, housing, education, capital project figures, and land use developments, as well as social and economic development. Through extensive community consultation, the study incorporated community wishes for development and modern infrastructure while respecting traditional values and beliefs.
